Here are some of the popular street fashion styles in Japan:
Fairy Kei is well known for it's cute outfits and pastel colors.
Alot of their clothing is inspired by the 80s and 90s. You will often see
prints and accessoires from My Little Pony, the Care Bears, Barbie but
also things like My Melody, Little Twin Stars and many more. Simple patterns like polka dots are very common too! Important are
the pastel colors like mint, baby blue, light pink,
pale yellow, lanwender, etc...Dark colors can be added as well but the main colors should match the cute and pastel-ish style.
You can wear any type of clothes as long as it matches the colors and the style in gerneral. You can
wear a shirt with a skirt, or shorts or even a bloomer. Also very famous
are printed tights, cute overknees or leg warmers!
Common accessoires are rings, bows, long necklaces with
cute pendants and also wrist cuffs.
Pastel wigs, dyed hair or natural hair color - everything fits for fairy kei!

Pale white, nearly ghost-like skin - this is the main element of the Shironuri style. Shironuri means "painted in white" in japanese and I guess this already explains alot haha but lets take a closer look at the fashion:
There isn't realy a dress code for this style. You can wear nearly anything you want. Most styles are inspired by dark themes or nature though. But I guess important is the pale skin: white painted face and neck. for the legs and hands you can wear white tights and white gloves. The make up can be super creative! Don't be afraid to use some color and you can even add things like leaves or blossoms to add an interesting effect to it! Another outstanding thing are the long unique eyelashes.

There are many variants of Shironuri. For example you can wear clothes inspired by dark
and scary things or you can wear soft color and make up inspired by the nature.
But you can also wear something from another street style like pop kei and combine it with
the white skin makeup. Your imagination knows no boundaries here! :)

Decora is outstanding for it's neon colors, patterns and the tons of accessoires that
are added to the outfits. Lots of layers and fun accessoires! You can wear nearly anything with this fashion. Just spice it up with necklaces, bracelets and I guess most important: hairclips!
There are colorful decoras, dark decora-styles and even some that build their coords around one color.
Tutu skirts are very popular. Fun patterns, colorful socks or overknees and often shoes with cute stuffed animals or characters on it.
Bangs are nearly a must-have because in decora fashion you put a lot of accessoires onto
your hair. This way its easier to show your favorite accessoires to the world! But you can also keep it simple. Just wear what you like! :)
The make up can be very simple but you can also use neon colors to make it look
more colorful and cute! It's also common to put little deco-stones near your eyes or on your cheeks or cute little patches with cute prints on it (mostly put on the nose)
Also very popular are printed face masks, legwarmers and fluffy hats!

Mother Nature - Mori girls are mostly dressed in soft nature colors like green, brown or blue.
Flower patterns, ruffles and a layering are a common thing in this fashion.
Popular clothes are for example loosly dresses, cardigans, boots, long skirts etc.
A key to achieve a nice mori-look is to layer your clothes. What I often see are dresses with long skirts underneath to "extend" the dress' lenght and make it look more interesting.
For accessoires they also use nature inspired stuff, like leaves and flowers, often made out of wool or wood. DIY accessoires make your coords even more unique and there is alot of stuff out there you can make cute nature-inspired stuff with. Just take a walk through the woods or visit a nearby craft shop! Especially when its fall you can find alot of cute stuff! (at least thats my experience so far)
Common hairstyles are wavy hair or braided hair with colors like brown, blonde or even
orange hair. Just let the nature inspire you! :D
